Wouldn’t it be nice if you could have a classy dining room to yourself and ten of your closest friends? Wouldn’t it be sweet if you could have a meal prepared for you, in said dining room, by your own personal chef? What if you could bring wine or beer to the affair and have it poured for you at no charge? Would you go? Would you consider inviting other friends to join you? I bet you would. And I only say that because Kurtis Ellis has been busy cooking a lot of meals of late. And after a trip to Simple Pleasures Intimate Catering, I can understand why.
I’ve had Kurtis’ food on a number of occasions. He has a way of popping up when there’s catering needed, and he’s long since been established as one of the best in town. But in Simple Pleasures Intimate Catering, he takes his craft to a new level and delivers a one of a kind dining experience in Charlottetown.
My editor approached me a couple of weeks ago to do a story on the place. He’d cover the cost and I’d dine with strangers. Not the normal routine, but we’d both heard great things about the place and felt a story was warranted.
